Synopsis

This seminar is organised by UOB Kay Hian Investor Centre.

Swing trading usually involves a price movement from one high to another high, taking about 2 to 3 days in the process. In the FX market it can also be used for a swing from one low to another low. This time requirement and strategy is suitable for the Forex market as well given its fast pace movement. In this seminar, you will learn the mechanics of swing trading using the MACD indicator together with the Fibonacci retracement and projection technique. MACD indicator will be used to identify the direction of price movement while Fibonacci will be used to time the trade and project the exit profit target. Fibonacci technique will also be used to define the risk management stop to protect our capital.

2) Swing Trading Techniques Using Wyckoff Method

Swing trading in the stock market can be costly and mentally draining, especially when market is volatile.

In this seminar, Brandon will demonstrate simple stock selection techniques of the Wyckoff Method to manage market volatility. You will learn to execute swing trading strategies for both bull and bear market using the concept of Market Price Cycle and simple technical tools. Brandon will provide a technical outlook of the current market.

Speakers' Profile

Nicholas Tan
UOB Kay Hian Associate Director of FX & CFD

He has close to 30 years of experience in the financial markets. Prior to joining UOB Kay Hian in 2002, he had worked for 13 years as a FX Trader with various banks in Singapore.

He is the author of 2 popular books, "Handbook for Forex Trading" and "Handbook for CFD Trading" which are available in local bookstores. He has made guest appearances on TV program like Money Mind to discuss about Forex Trading. Since 2007, he has given numerous talks and seminars, in the area of technical analysis, locally and overseas for Technical Analysts Society of Singapore and other societies and organizations.

Besides holding a Bachelor Degree in Business Administration from the National University of Singapore, Nicholas also holds a Chartered Market Technician (CMT) designation from the Market Technician Association of USA. He is also a Certified Financial Technician (CFTe) with the International Federation of Technical Analysts (IFTA) and has an Advanced Certificate in Training and Assessment.

Brandon Leu, CMT
Certified SGX Academy Trainer, Vice President of Equities & Financial Products with UOB Kay Hian.

His portfolio of clients includes corporate, trusts and high net-worth individuals. He has been with the company since 2013. Prior to his current position, Brandon joined the banking and finance industry in 2005 with UOB wealth management team where he provides investment and portfolio management advice, before moving to HSBC as Assistant Vice President in 2010. With his years of experience, he provides market analysis, forecast, develops trading strategies and trade execution planning for his clients.

He holds the Chartered Market Technician (CMT) designation, conferred by the Market Technicians Association (U.S) and is a Certified Financial Technician (CFTe) awarded by the International Federation of Technical Analysts (IFTA). He is also a licensed Trading Representative.

Brandon conducts regular trading and technical analysis seminars at SGX, UOB Kay Hian, Bloomberg and other public institutions such as SMU and NUSS in Singapore. He also conducts seminars for bank’s clients in Malaysia. In Sept 2017, he was invited to conduct investment training for Channel News Asia's investment show, Money Mind Challenge.
