Yasuo Kono is a Senior Product Specialist at Nikko AM covering Japan and Asia ex Japan Equities. He has over 20 years of industry experience with a focus on the Japanese market. Prior to joining Nikko AM in 2020, he was based in Japan where he was Head of Japan and South Korea Research & Strategy at LaSalle Investment Management for 12 years and he also worked as a sell-side equity analyst at Goldman Sachs covering small cap, IT, and entertainment sectors. He started his career at Nikko Securities (currently SMBC Nikko Securities) in 1999. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce from Waseda University, and majored in Monetary Economics.
