11 January 2022 | Tuesday | 6.30pm – 8.00pm

With the US Federal Reserve on its way to complete the tapering of its bond purchases by mid-2022, what are the implications of this "withdrawal" of easy policy on US interest rates and regional central banks' policy stance? We will examine the key themes, opportunities, and risks in the coming year against a backdrop of the shift in central bank policy stance, elevated inflation rates, supply chain bottlenecks, and geopolitical developments among others.

Heightened Alert for Higher Interest Rates
+ A Thorny Road To S-REITs Reopening

18 January 2022 | Tuesday | 6.30pm – 8.00pm

Stronger economic recovery globally and a more proactive fiscal policy in the US necessitate higher interest rates that is commensurate with the higher aggregate demand. We expect US FED to start hiking FED Funds Rate starting 4Q22 and banks would benefit from NIM expansion in 2023. We view banks as a play on cyclical economic recovery and higher interest rates. Investors will also be rewarded with attractive and recurrent dividend yield.

We will be sharing our stock picks for S-REITs based on hospitality REITs benefitting from recovery in business and leisure travel, both domestically & internationally. Downtown malls will also be benefitting from employees returning to work at their offices starting 1 Jan 22 and recovery of visitor arrivals.
